Russian pianist wins Cleveland International Piano Competition

Stanislav Khristenko, pictured, has been named the Mixon First Prize winner of the 2013 Cleveland International Piano Competition. The finals were held on 10 August. He was selected from a field of 28 candidates who performed over a ten-day period.

In addition to a cash prize of $50,000 presented by Mr and Mrs A Malachi Mixon III, one of the largest cash prizes of its kind, the 29-year old Russian Khristenko receives more than 50 concert engagements, three years of management services, a recording by Steinway & Sons, New York, and a New York recital debut at Carnegie Hall’s Zankel Hall on May 19, 2014.
