Legendary pianist officially launches new album with an intimate performance on the River Seine
‘I dedicate this album to my wonderful piano students and all my friends around the world who love the piano as much as I do.’ - Lang Lang
Pianist superstar Lang Lang gave a performance to remember as he launched his new album 'Piano Books' on Valentine's Day, performing some of his new pieces onboard a boat floating along the famous River Seine.
Lang Lang played to around 150 guests in an intimate show, many of whom had flown in for the occasion.
'Piano Books' is a collection of pieces that first inspired him to play the piano as a child and led him on his path to international stardom. It gathers together many pieces that Lang Lang - and pianists all around the world - have grown up with. He performed much-loved classics such as Für Elise, Debussy's Claire de Lune, and Yann Tiersen’s Valse d’Amélie.
Lang Lang’s busy schedule of future 'Piano Book' performances includes an arena concert in Beijing, appearances at the Global Awards in London and on TV shows in the US, UK, France and Japan, and a special celebration to mark World Piano Day on 29th March.
