Yamaha’s Piano Selection Weekend in London, 11-12 October

How often do you get a chance to try out over 40 pianos from a single maker? This October you do exactly that with Yamaha’s Piano Selection Weekend at London’s Southbank Centre.

Models on display
Visitors will be spoiled for choice, because the Piano Selection weekend will have a broad range of Yamaha’s offerings on display, including the mighty CFX concert grand, the complete CX series and the CF6 range. Uprights are also represented, with Yamaha’s professional range of uprights – the YUS series, plus the SE series. These are high-end instruments, so the sessions should be of particular interest to individuals and institutions.

Says Leanne Barrell, Marketing and Promotions Manager, Yamaha Pianos:
‘When you usually want to try out a C3, a good shop will have one to show you, possibly two. Here they’ll have six on offer. In a similar way, you can’t go to a shop and try out four or five C7s. It just doesn’t happen. So this is the place to come.’

You can book a private 45-minute slot
The Piano Selection Weekend will let you do much more than quickly run your fingers across the keys. You can book a private 45-minute slot, which means a peaceful unrushed viewing. There will be leading technicians and piano specialists on hand to help you with advice and queries. The venue is the Level 5 Function Room, Royal Festival Hall – a big space with a tremendous view overlooking the London Eye and the River Thames.

The event coincides with Yamaha’s ‘Piano Upgrade’ initiative, which offers private customers and institutions a guaranteed part-exchange value on their existing instrument – making a possible purchase even more affordable.

A second selection weekend takes place early next year at St George’s Hall, Liverpool, on 17 and 18 January.
