Thankfully for us piano lovers, it's a piano-packed three days in the UK capital

The Labeque Sisters, Simone Dinnerstein and Leif Ove Andsnes are all set to grace the Royal Albert Hall stage this weekend at the BBC Proms.

French piano duo Katia & Marielle Labèque (5 Aug, 19:30) will be conducted by Semyon Bychkov, with Rachmaninov’s Symphonic Dances, and a Martinů concerto both on the menu.

The following day, American classical pianist Simone Dinnerstein (6 Aug, 19:30) will join the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain for a kaleidoscopic programme, including works by Danny Elfman and Gershwin, followed by Ravel’s luscious complete ballet, Daphnis and Chloe.

Former Pianist cover star Leif Ove Andsnes multitasks as pianist and director in Sunday afternoon's performance with the Mahler Orchestra. he directs and plays as he directs and plays two contrasting Mozart piano concertos from 1785: the dark-hued Concerto No 20, and the gloriously playful Concerto No 22 (7 Aug, 3pm).

It's a double whammy for Andsnes, who returns again later in the evening (19:30) for more Mozart from the year 1786: Symphony No 38 in D major and Piano Concerto No 24 in C minor.

The Norwegian then performs a third Mozart Concerto on Monday (8 Aug, 13:00, Battersea Arts Centre).
