Philadelphia Young Pianist’s Academy announce their 7th annual piano festival

PYPA Piano Festival will take place from August 2-11 later this year.

PYPA Piano Festival has announced all the details about their 7th annual piano festival. The event will accept 20 gifted musicians globally to participate in 10 days of masterclasses and recitals with legendary concert artists and pedagogues, including pianists who achieved gold at the Chopin, Cliburn, and Rubinstein competitions.

The faculty for this year includes the likes of Gary Graffman, legendary pedagogue and former president of Curtis Institute of Music; Dang Thai Son, Gold Medalist of the Chopin Competition; Ching-Yun Hu, the PYPA Artistic Director and celebrated pianist in Asia; Yekwon Sunwoo, Gold Medalist of Cliburn Competition; Lydia Artymiw, Grammy-nominated pianist and Gramophone Award-winner and Alon Goldstein, a pianist with top orchestral engagements from the LA Phil to the Philadelphia Orchestra.

Four of those faculty members – Yekwon Sunwoo, Dang Thai Son, Ching-Yun Hu and Alon Goldstein will give solo recitals throughout the festival. All concerts will be open to the public.

With 10 summertime concerts, 62 hours of master classes, a guest lecture series, and the adjoining Philadelphia International Piano Competition, there is a lot to offer students and the public.
