HDpiano, an online music education platform, is giving away a brand-new full-size digital piano every week this year.

Aspiring pianists can enter with a video post on social media, and the main judging criteria are enthusiasm for music and the need for a new instrument.

Hopeful participants can re-enter each week, and a new deserving winner is chosen and announced every Sunday night on HDpiano's social media channels.

Of the contest, HDpiano CEO Dan Collins says: “During this pandemic and lockdown, many people have lost access to the pianos they used to play and practise on regularly. School music rooms, church choir rooms, local theatres, and private teachers’ homes are closed or no longer accessible.

Because of that, many pianists are left playing at home, often on subpar instruments. This is our small way of trying to restore the joy of playing for those folks, bring more music to the world, and hopefully make this year better than the last.”
