Pianist issue 109 cover star Martin James Bartlett has won 1st prize at this year's YCA International Auditions in New York City. As part of his prize, he will be granted access to a minimum of 3 years management services, career engagements, publicity and career guidance. He will also have the opportunity to perform at some of the USA's biggest concert halls in New York City and Washington DC.

Martin told Pianist: "I am absolutely delighted to be joining YCA’s wonderful roster of musicians for American management. It’s been a whirlwind couple of unforgettable weeks spent auditioning in New York City - I’ve met so many marvellous, inspirational musicians and I am greatly looking forward to beginning planning concert tours across the USA."

The Young Concert Artists auditions are different in comparison to competitions. Rather than have lots of talented musicians fight for one number 1 spot, YCA allows any number of winners to be selected.
