The new album will be available via Sony Classical on 28 October
Czech composer Antonín Dvořák's cycle of piano solo works takes centre stage in Leif Ove Andsnes's upcoming new release.
The new album features all 13 pieces from the set. The Norwegian pianist will also tour the album across the UK and Europe starting this November.
Dvořák’s 'Poetic Tone Pictures', mostly unknown to the public, offers a "rich palette of various different moods, from romantic and dream-like, to wild and furious. Its poetic temperament and technically rewarding piano stylization make it a gem." (Sony Classical). Andsnes previously brought lesser known works into the spotlight in 2017, when he released an album of Sibelius works.
The album tour will include trips to Prague, Berlin, Amsterdam, Paris, London and Stockholm. Andsnes recently lit up the BBC Proms with a performance of Mozart. You can watch his Prom below.
