Hear the rising young American pianist Thomas Nickell perform George Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue as soloist on four occasions this summer with the justly renowned Orchestra of the Swan conducted by its brilliant Music Director David Curtis.  Ever since its premiere in New York in 1924, this jazzy perennial has become one of the most popular American works for piano and orchestra.

The ensemble will begin the program with Copland’s Rodeo and conclude with Dvorak’s New World Symphony.  Together they appear at Stratford-Upon-Avon on Tuesday, 11 July and Saturday, 22 July, at 7:30 p.m.; in Lichfield at the Lichfield Cathedral on Wednesday, 12 July, 7:30 p.m. and in London on Friday, 14 July, 7:30 p.m. at the Four Seasons Hotel at Park Lane.
