Taken at the RPS Awards last night 10 May, at the Brewery, London
I wanted to post this lovely picture that a colleague took last night at the 2016 Royal Philharmonic Society Awards. Dame Fanny is all of 96 years old, but she’s still as alert as ever. We had a wonderful chat – about the state of classical music today, how we need to find younger audiences to fill the concert halls, how she’s still teaching the piano, and how the past winners of the Leeds Piano Competition are getting on.
Dame Fanny will be presenting a masterclass at the Oxford Piano Festival and Summer Academy on 4th August. Amazing, I'd say.
It was a delight to be sitting at the same table as her. Everyone should be so energetic at the age of 96!
