The Russian keyboard legend celebrates in style at St John’s Smith Square on 2 November

 

On 10 August, Dmitri Alexeev celebrated his 70th birthday; like Barenboim, he shows few signs of slowing down in a career that was launched over 40 years ago by winning the 1975 Leeds Piano Competition.

His recent recordings of Scriabin for Brilliant Classics are further distinguished additions to a discography that has concentrated on keyboard poets such as Chopin and Schumann.

All three composers will be featured in a London recital which he gives at St John’s Smith Square on 2 November. The 24 Preludes Op 11 of Scriabin are on the menu of both the concert and his latest recording. To book tickets, visit the box office online at St John’s Smith Square.
