The annual festive bumper issue of Pianist is now available - with a new-look Buyer's Guide to go alongside it

What's in this Issue?

Australian actor Cate Blanchett stars on the cover of the latest issue! She talks to editor Erica Worth about her new (and very musical...) role in new film Tár.

There are 40+ pages of Scores to get stuck in to inside – 13 scores in total, many with a wintry feel – including a movement from Liszt's Christmas Tree Suite, Tofft's 'Christmas Idyl' and Palmgren's 'Snowflakes'. Plus two magical scores by César Franck. Perfect for getting yourself into the festive spirit.

A selection of the scores are accompanied by step-by-step lessons, including a lesson by pianist Clare Hammond on Hélène de Montgeroult's Nocturne-style Etude No 110.

Elsewhere, there are masterclasses by on how to improve your sight-reading by Mark Tanner, plus Graham Fitch gives his advice on the best fingering for legato and repeated notes. Advocate teacher and pianist Penelope Roskell is also on hand to explain what healthy practice is, and how to master it.
