The bursary has been created by The Curious Piano Teachers community in order to help members maintain their membership

The bursary fund, that has also been hugely supported by piano teachers, will support members of the community, meaning that they can still benefit from the online resources that The Curious Piano Teachers offer - at a time when they need them the most.

The organisation offers members numerous online teaching resources including access to shared teaching ideas, guidance from experts, advice on getting to grips with teaching technology teaching videos and opportunities to connect with other teachers.

It was founded in 2015 by Dr Sally Cathcart and Sharon Mark-Teggart. Both are teachers themselves, as well as researchers in music education. Together they created a unique online resource for piano teachers.

Cathcart comments, “We have been incredibly touched by the kindness of our community and members during these testing times. The donations that we have received so far are greatly appreciated and will enable us to keep our members connected and doing what they love the most - teaching and playing the piano.”
