The semi finals hearing took place at the end of May. That panel consisted of Erica Worth (Editor, Pianist magazine), Murray McLachlan (Head of Keyboard, Chetham’s School of Music) and Jesper Buhl (Managing Director, Danacord Records). The jury were delighted by the high standard - it took two days of back-to-back hearings to decide on the semi finalists. Here they are listed below (in no particular order):

We are delighted too, that some of the semi finalists come from overseas – two from the USA, one from Canada, plus one each from Germany, Spain and France. Truly international!

The semi finals will take place at Chetham’s School of Music, Manchester, on 21 August. Finalists will be announced at the end of the day.

The finals take place at the Royal Northern College concert hall evening of 22 August.
