Enjoy performances from Maria João Pires, Igor Levit, Ivan Ilić, Daniil Trifonov, Dominic Ferris and more.
The pianists have been busy this week performing live for the music-loving world... online.
With almost all major concert halls shut globally, our beloved pianists have had perform for us through the internet. And it's fair to say we have been blessed with tonnes of 'concerts'!
There were 5 this week that we particularly enjoyed...
1. Deutsche Grammophon's World Piano Day live stream
Pianists Maria João Pires, Víkingur Ólafsson, Joep Beving, Jan Lisiecki, Seong-Jin Cho, Rudolf Buchbinder, Simon Ghraichy, Evgeny Kissin, Daniil Trifonov and Kit Armstrong all featured in Deutsche Grammophon's live stream back on World Piano Day. Above, you can watch the highlights from each performance.
2. Igor Levit

Levit has been broadcasting live 'House Concerts' every night from his home. The German featured on the cover of issue 112 of Pianist.
3. Ivan Ilić
French composer Anton Reicha is somewhat of an underrated gem. Lucky for us, Ivan Ilić has made it a habit of his to spotlight some of his compositions. In his latest video, he delighted his followers with a performance of Reicha's Etude Opus 97 No 1. The music for this piece can be found inside issue 105 of Pianist.
