Igor Levit

Where else to start? On 30 May, Igor Levit gave an incredible 16-HOUR performance of Erik Satie's 'Vexations'. The energy needed to complete such a task can only be mustered up by the best, and Igor is certainly up there.

What a stunning feat.

Yaron Kohlberg

The Lang Lang International Music Foundation have been hosting live-stream concerts on social media every Friday. The latest performance saw Yaron Kohlberg perform two Lyric pieces by Grieg.

As well as being a pianist, Kohlberg is President of Piano Cleveland who present the popular Cleveland International Piano Competition.

George X. Fu & Tamsin Waley-Cohen

Pianist George X. Fu was joined by violinist Tamsin Waley-Cohen for a performance of three pieces; a Debussy Violin Sonata, a Ravel Violin Sonata, and a piece titled Sardine composed by Freya Waley-Cohen.

The duo performed as part of the Living Room Live series, which is a platform hosting live performances from musicians' living rooms.

Jason Lux

Pianist Jason Lux graced us with a little bit of Jazz last week on his YouTube page. Lux is known for his re-interpretation of Jazz and Pop songs.

In this live-stream he played a variety of pieces requested by his live online audience.

Tiffany Poon

This is a heartwarming story.

The pianist gave a recital last week with the hope of raising at least $10,000 for Direct Relief – a non-profit organisation that provides medical equipment such as masks to frontline workers to fight Covid-19.

Not only did she hit the target, but she also surpassed it. The total currently stands at $18,522.

Tiffany performed a selection of pieces including Scarlatti's Sonata in E K.380, Chopin's Nocturne No 20 in C# minor, and Ravel's La Valse amongst others.
