The Chatsworth is the jewel in the crown of the Cavendish range. The instrument has the mellow warmth associated with the English tone, further underpinned by a reservoir of power. The use of Renner hammers toned to perfection striking English-wound strings gives perhaps the ultimate upright playing experience.

The Cavendish Chatsworth case is cabinet-maker built in Yorkshire from solid English oak (pictured), walnut or mahogany. This is a one-off process and each piano has its own individual character. The process of hand-selecting and hand-crafting wood is not suited to the modern, large assembly line- based-piano factory. For this reason, Cavendish are able to offer a unique product.

The Cavendish Chatsworth is the only new piano available which is built entirely in the traditional way using traditional materials. The three sound panels on the top board remind us this piano is built using techniques from the golden age of piano making. Sound panels are constructed under tension (like a drum skin) and vibrate sympathetically when a note is played. It was in this way the makers of old could design a tone that was subtle and warm but still had volume and resonance.

The result is a piano of heirloom quality which can proudly take its place among the great British pianos of the past.
