There has never been a more suitable time to invest in a digital piano

The current coronavirus crisis has thrown our world into a situation we are not used to, and could not predict coming.

It has given us more spare time than we've ever been used to – time that we could use to work on our piano playing. It seems like there is no better time to invest in a digital piano, especially if you've held off buying one in the past due to limited practice time!

That being said, there are just so many pianos out there to choose from. It's hard to find the perfect one.

We thought we'd give you a helping hand by picking out a few pianos we think you will love. Check them out below.

Casio PX-S1000 – RRP £575

It’s often said that good things come in small packages, and it’s certainly true of the Casio PX-S1000.

The world’s slimmest digital piano with internal speakers and 88 weighted keys has proved to be one of Casio’s most popular products to date.

The PX-S1000 has won praise from the design industry too. An iF Product Design award in 2019 celebrated the instrument’s “simply beautiful form factor” and how it “fits beautifully with modern space-saving lifestyles”. In March 2020, this instrument won the Red Dot Award for Product Design, competing against 6,500 products from around the world.

It’s difficult not to marvel at what has been achieved. The slimline case is barely larger than the keys themselves, with all the functions appearing from behind a sleek, easy to use touch panel that illuminates when powered up (from a mains plug or 6 AA batteries). At just over 11kg in weight, this is every travelling pianist’s dream.

But it’s not style over substance. Despite its diminutive size, the Casio PX-S1000 has lots of technology inside including a brand new Smart Scaled Hammer Action keyboard offering even better playability than before, improved piano tones with string resonance, iOS or Android connectivity and Bluetooth audio streaming.
