Brahms – Piano Concerto No. 2 in B-flat Major, Op. 83 1. Allegro non troppo

What better place to start than with the performance that won him that coveted Tchaikovsky Gold Medal?

It's easy to see why he was awarded 1st Place. What a stunning performance.

Chopin – Piano Concerto No. 2

Kantorow blessed our lockdown with a performance of Chopin's Piano Concerto No 2 alongside the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra back in October.

Performing from an empty Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, it certainly wasn't a performance lacking in atmosphere.

Saint-Saëns – Piano Concerto No 5 Op 103

At a full Théâtre des Sablons in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France, Kantorow produced another stunning performance, this time playing Saint-Saëns.

He performed alongside Orchestre de Chambre Nouvelle Europe conducted by Nicolas Krauze back in October 2016.

Vecsey – Valse triste

After performing Tchaikovsky's Concerto No 2 at the Mariinsky Theatre in St Petersburg, Kantorow performed an encore of Franz von Vecsey's Valse triste.

Another stunning performance.

Saint-Saëns – Danse macabre Op 40 arr. Liszt / Horowitz

We finished with another gorgeous performance of a Saint-Saëns piece, this time one arranged by Liszt/Horowitz.
