Chicago Amateur Piano Competition takes place this week!

Finals this Saturday!

On Wednesday this week (yesterday), the Chicago Amateur Piano Competition began in earnest after last night’s successful 'Meet The Judges' event.

Pianist magazine’s contributor Melanie Spanswick is one of the three judges participating.

55 amateur pianists from around the world will compete for over 15 cash prizes. The countries represented are Japan, Hong Kong, Australia, Russia, Italy, the Netherlands, France, Canada and the United States.

The entire competition is live streamed each day. 

Wednesday and Thursday are the preliminaries and Friday includes the finals for the 2-round competition and Saturday is the finals for the 3-round competition. 

Pianist is proud to be a sponsor of this competition through distributing over 200 copies of Pianist magazine to competitors and the audiences.

The piano is a new Yamaha CFX.
