Over 1,800 people entered our pre-Christmas competition – the chance to win a Yamaha Clavinova worth over £1,500.

Now read who won!

Readers of Pianist may remember we ran a WIN A CLAVINOVA Competition inside the December/January issue No 93.

For a few years now, our good friends at Yamaha have been kind enough to offer such a wonderful prize, and we are forever thankful.

This year it was the Clavinova CLP-353R, at a price tag of just over £1,500.

We are pleased to announce that Mrs Jayne Dawson from Lincolnshire is the name that we pulled out of the hat.

When we called Mrs Dawson to tell her the good news, her phone rang and rang and we almost gave up. But she answered on something like the tenth ring. That’s because – as she told us later – she thought it was a prank call from an obscure London number!

Jayne retired some two years ago, and is delighted to now have a piano to start practising on again. She told us that she gave up some years back, but had always regretted it and wanted to start again. She didn’t have a piano though.

It just goes to show: a new piano can make someone's dream come true!

Thanks everyone else for entering. We will for sure be offering more great prizes in this 2017 year!
