YAMAHA SILENT PIANOS
Yamaha’s award winning silent pianos offer the best
of both worlds, a traditionally crafted piano with the
option to use headphones that totally ‘silence’ the
instrument.
Imagine yourself seated at a classic Yamaha piano, the
superb tone and renowned sensitivity of the piano action
and keyboard. You can now play the instrument in complete
privacy thanks to integrated digital components.
These instruments offer unparalleled flexibility and are
ideal for students and mean that a dedicated music room
is not required. You can play without being disturbed or
disturbing others.
When in ‘ silent’ mode the instrument utilises
a digital sample of a Yamaha concert grand through the
headphones reproducing and capturing all the tonal subtleties
of a grand piano. The shift of a lever stops the hammers
from striking the strings as the control unit activates
the digital samples.
MIDI terminals (Musical Instrument Digital Interface)
allows connection to other musical instrument or computers
further extending the capabilities of these innovative
instruments. Other inputs allow you to play along with
pre-recorded music or amplify your performance.
